When it comes to head lice, don’t panic. Lice are common and manageable. With the right information and follow-through, you can get rid of them and keep them from coming back.
First: Don’t Panic
Head lice are a nuisance, not a health emergency.
If you choose to treat lice at home, there is no one-time cure — successful removal requires multiple combing sessions and follow-up checks.
The only way to get rid of lice in a single visit is our Lice Gone In One Treatment, performed in our clinic using a professional device that delivers controlled warm air to safely dehydrate lice and eggs, followed by a meticulous comb-out.
Kids do not need to miss school once treatment has started.
Anyone can get lice. It spreads mostly through head-to-head contact.
What To Do In Your Environment (Quick Checklist)
Focus on heads, not the house. Lice survive briefly off the scalp.
Wash pillowcases, hats, hair accessories, and recently used bedding in hot water + high heat dry.
Bag up unwashable soft items for 48 hours or toss them in the dryer on high for 30 minutes.
Vacuum car seats, couches, and rugs you’ve used in the last 48 hours.
Avoid sharing brushes, hats, and headphones during treatment.
Treatment Overview
Start with a professional screening to confirm if lice or nits are present.
Choose a treatment plan:
Lice Gone In One Treatment (in-clinic): single-visit option with professional warm-air device + comb-out.
Manual Removal (combing at home or in clinic): step-by-step nit removal with our Nit Nit Lice Comb, plus a follow-up schedule.
If treating at home, plan for at least 7–10 days of re-checks and combing to break the life cycle.
The Wet-Combing Method (How It Works)
1. Apply Nit Nit Lice Comb – Out Oil to dry hair and section it.
2. Use a fine-tooth nit comb from scalp to ends, wiping the comb each pass.
3. Work methodically around the head until each section is clear.
4. Repeat short sessions over several days to catch late-hatching eggs.
Follow-up is essential unless you choose the Lice Gone In One Treatment.
